A New Editor - Sally Shortle Miller '71

In our effort to recruit new members into the active group of Alumni Association volunteers, we hit the jackpot!

A year or so ago, Sally Shortle Miller '71 began to attend our regular monthly meetings. At first, Sally was quiet and observed the process and cadence of our gatherings. It wasn't long, however, before she began to participate in our conversations and her input became valuable.

During the past year, our current newsletter editor, Nancy Redmond Brown '59 expressed that it was time for her to step down as editor and focus more time and attention on her family.

Well, timing is everything, right?! Sally began to emerge as the obvious choice to replace Nancy as editor. It became apparent to the rest of the committee.

Now, we just had to convince Sally that she was the right person for the job!

It didn't take long for Sally to accept the idea that we had plans for her. Thankfully, she agreed!

Now we welcome Sally as the new editor of the printed version of the Alumni Arc-Lite.

One of the first things that was decided under Sally's leadership was to bring the layout and design process "in house". Instead of spending over $1,000 per year with a subcontractor to have the newsletter layout and design done, that part of the process is now being handled by Deb DiLillo Betz '76.

Deb is also working on the establishment and implementation of an electronic newsletter.

This edition of the Alumni Arc-Lite is the first version being published under Sally's leadership with Deb's assistance.
