↵ NEWSClass of 1971 50 Year ReunionOriginal Release: 4/25/2022 This year, the Class of '71 celebrated in fine style. The reunion weekend included a golf outing at Mana-kiki, a Cleveland Indians baseball game and dinner at the Dubrovnik Garden Restaurant in Eastlake. Seventy-five of our classmates, spouses, and friends attended an Indians game in the climate controlled atmosphere of the Terrace Club at Progressive Field. The evening included a full buffet dinner, cash bar, a raffle that included up to sixty prizes, and Indians items as giveaways. Everyone left the game with a prize or item that included bobbleheads, blankets, jerseys, hats, and Chief Wahoo items. Special guests included Slider and members of the Indians staff. Even though the Indians did not win the game, it was an opportunity for our classmates to get together and catch up on the past fifty years. Many thanks to Gary Gross and the Indians organization, whose help made this a very special evening for all who were able to attend. The class was treated on Saturday morning to a tour of the new facilities at Brush. Many were amazed at the changes that had been made. Current Brush Principal, Mr. Karl Williamson, provided a very in-formative tour and all enjoyed the time back on campus. The reunion weekend ended with a dinner at Dubrovnik Garden Restaurant in Eastlake. One hundred sev-enty-five people were treated to dinner and a program highlighting our time at Brush and since. Many people were able to make connections with old friends and acquaintances. It is safe to say that the entire weekend was a success and a good time was had by all. 1971 Fun Facts Cost of Living in 1971 Yearly Inflation Rate USA 4.3% Popular Musicians James Taylor Popular TV Programs All My Children Events China is admitted to the United Nations. At the reunion, classmate Ray Toll shared this poem, saying it comes from the US Navy and British Royal Navy fleets. He then tailored it to the Class of '71. He suggests that because of all the changes, challenges, etc. that students from the 70's witnessed and participated in during our lifetimes, that our kids and grand-kids might call us "The Second Greatest Generation."
